Brazil beat Egypt 2-1 in Cleveland in their last tune-up, the teenager Endrick settling it after Mohamed Salah's side had threatened a comeback.

Brazil signed off their World Cup preparations with a 2-1 win over Egypt at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, the teenager Endrick proving the difference, as ESPN reported.

Bruno Guimarães struck early, capitalising on a defensive slip in the sixth minute. Egypt levelled almost immediately through Mostafa Zico, who punished a loose Marquinhos back-pass. Just after the break, Endrick converted a precise Raphinha pull-back to restore Brazil's lead, per match coverage.

Carlo Ancelotti started Vinícius Júnior, withdrawing him at the interval, while Mohamed Salah came on at half-time for Egypt and fired one chance over the bar as the Pharaohs pushed for an equaliser that never came.

For Egypt, taking five-time world champions Brazil to the wire is a confidence-builder. Salah leads a side that has not been at a World Cup since 2018, and on this evidence they will not fear the big names.

For African and Kenyan fans, it is another sign the gap is narrowing. Egypt arrive at 2026 organised and dangerous, with the continent's most recognisable forward still setting the standard, as VAVEL noted.
