Luis Romo

Luis Romo is a versatile Mexico international who operates as a defensive midfielder but can also drop into central defence or fill in at full-back. He came through at Querétaro before joining Cruz Azul, where he was part of the side that ended a 23-year wait for a league title in 2021. A move to Monterrey followed, and he has been a regular in the Mexico squad, including at the 2022 World Cup.

Strong in the tackle and a threat arriving from deep, he settled a tight game at the 2026 finals with the only goal in Mexico's 1-0 win over South Korea.
