Fernando Muslera is Uruguay's veteran goalkeeper, a 40-year-old former Galatasaray great who has been a fixture of the Celeste for the best part of two decades and one of the most decorated keepers of his generation.

His error gifted Spain the only goal, Álex Baena's shot slipping through his hands, and he asked to be substituted at half-time, replaced by Sergio Rochet.
